We’ve all heard about the new drink craze that claims to lower anxiety and depression, aid in weight loss management and boost your immune system – that drink is Kombucha.
Kombucha is a fermented tea that has been brewed using black or green tea and a SCOBY. A SCOBY is called a “Symbiotic culture of Bacteria and Yeast” and is best decribed as a silicon pancake, and a slimy one at that.
The SCOBY aids the fermentation process that absorbs the sugar and creates vitamins, amino acids and enzymes.
I was so lucky to be given a SCOBY to start my first batch of KOMBUCHA, and used Hannah Noonan – Kombucha Receipe to kick start it.
