With Melbourne’s heat not slowing down for Autumn, I am actually questioning myself, maybe I shouldn’t post my capsule on here yet. For those who don’t know – Melbourne is located in Victoria, Australia. It is renowned for its ‘4 seasons in one day’ weather. Yes you could say a little bi-polar.
March the 1st, is day one of Autumn for us in here and the weather forecast is predicted to be 37 degrees/99 fahrenheit. And it’s going to be like this for another week. As much as I love the heat of summer, I enjoy weekends better when it’s slightly cooler.
But I thought I’ll get in early to show you my Autumn Capsule Wardrobe anyway. Just a quick run down on what a capsule wardrobe is. It’s a collection of a few essential items of clothing that don’t go out of fashion, such as skirts, trousers, and coats, which can then be enhanced with seasonal pieces.
For convenience and practicality, the majority of what you have in your capsule should be in a neutral colour palette like blacks, greys, whites and nudes.
As mentioned in one of my Instagram posts, the newest Autumn/Winter colours on trend are earthy tones like shades of terracotta, sand and clay.
However for this Capsule I have kept it minimalistic and neutral, because we are still transitioning from summer. These lighter colours in your wardrobe are great for adding those seasonal pieces for a pop of colour. Like a gorgeous brick colour jumper or a mustard coloured scarf.
